Who We Are

Meet the Online Child Lab research team:

Dr Bailey House

Assistant Professor of Developmental Psychology

University of York

My studies try to understand how children think about rules and social norms: their beliefs about what other people do, and what other people think they should do.

One exciting thing I have discovered working with cultural differences in children's willingness to share begins to appear around middle childhood.

Dr Bahar Köymen

Assistant Professor of Developmental Psychology

University of Manchester

My research studies how children think and socialise in interactions with others, particularly with their peers.

I am particularly interested in how children share experiences with others, how they reason through joint decisions, and their understanding of obligations and commitments to others.

Dr Laura Boundy

Postdoctoral Research Associate

University of Manchester

My research explores how infants communicate with others, and how they interact with caregivers early in life.

I am particularly interested in gestures as communication, and also in children’s understanding of morality and apologies.
